Hunger in Somalia (Last draft)

The world's population now is more than 7 billion. Most of the world's population is spread in the continent of Asia. Pretty large population is in Africa.

Many efforts and researches have been done to increase the production of food. The foods are actually enough to feed all 7 billion inhabitants. But, hunger has took place in some parts of the world, especially in Africa. One of the country that has severe famine in Africa is Somalia.

The infrastructures in Somalia is bad. Moreover, Somalia is a country which suffer from civil war. That's why, the people living in Somalia suffer and famine occur.

I am a member of an organization called 'No Hunger'. This organization collects fund and campaign to help the hungry and also educate those who live in poverty so that they can earn their own money. I and my friend from this organization went to Somalia to visit the hungry people. We brought many things along with us.

At last we arrived in Somalia. The weather there was hot and dry. We built camps there to stay and put our supplies. "Now, let's start our mission now because we don't have much time," I said.

"Van, first of all we must weigh them. Secondly, let's feed them. Then, let's teach them the correct agricultural method and some useful lessons!" I said to Vanessa, my best friend in the organization. She agreed. "That's the best thing to do," she said. We weighed them. They are  extremely underweight.

"Gosh! You got to eat!" said Jessica, another member of that organization, in a worry and sad voice.

We then gave them some food and drink. The Somalian were extremely happy. It's the happiest moment in their life, I think. They laughed and thanked us thousands of times.

While we were there, we taught them the correct agricultural method and the suitable plants to be planted there. "Because you live in a very dry place, you must plant some suitable plants." Vanessa taught them.

We also established a school in an existing building for children and adults. We were happy to teach and they seems happy and like to study. We also made a mini library in the school filled with books we brought along.

We recruited some adults as volunteer to teach after we leave. Some kind adults volunteered. Our aim was to give the people there a continuous education because education is the way to better future.

Six months later, we went home. Yes, six months had passed. It's passed really fast, as if it's only a month instead of six months. We already experienced good time and bad time with the people there. They were also like a family to us by that time. It's really sad that we had  to leave them. The only thing that could console us was the results of our mission which was good enough.

"Goodbye, friends!" I and my friend from the organization said. They waved their hand sadly. Surely they'll miss us a lot as we would.

Now, we still collect fund. Besides food, we also supply books to Africa. I hope we can give continuous support to the countries which suffer from hunger and hope that one day they themselves can stand on their own to build their countries.

P.S. This is fictional, it is for English lesson.
